The Anointing
At worship practice this past weekend, we read a bit about the "anointing;" what it is, how to get/maintain it, what the Bible says about it.
"The Old Testament definition of the anointing: The special oil that was prescribed and required by God to be applied to the priests in order to set them apart for ministry in the house of the Lord".
What is it? His presence, His peace, His grace and ability on us - it's NOT us!! Talent might move and impress, but it's the anointing that breaks yolks, that brings healing and restoration! Two of the words used in the New Testament are 1)"Chraomai," meaning "To furnish or give what it is needed. To light upon or rest upon," and 2) "Chrio," which means "To be set apart for service, the divine enabling for the office."
What's our part? To pray, be diligent and integral, be set apart, live a life consecrated to Him, ask for it! As we seek His face, stay in the Word, continue growing in our faith, support and edify our team members and remain humble, we will experience His Spirit flowing through us and His anointing will be upon our worship. And isn't that why we're here??
Some scriptural references to check out - 2 Cor 1:21, Luke 4:18, Acts 1:8, Luke 3:22, Isaiah 10:27, Exodus 30:29-31

High Tide

What freedom! What Freedom! Thank you, Team for being anointed vessels that God poured out of freely Sunday. As someone experiencing worship off stage, it was amazing, freeing, moving, powerful. Pastor Mel, your prophetic song was sung with such boldness and assurance that people could not but help let God move in their lives! I cried, for the presence of God was so immense. Thank you!
God showed me this morning that our worship of Him is like the crashing waves of the ocean. As a wave pulls back off the shore another is allowed to poor over it; as we pull ourselves back, God is able to poor over us. I find it interesting that the ocean surface is directly affected by the tidal forces of the moon & sun. We are to be like the moon: a reflection of Jesus. The result of our relationship with Him is evident and beautiful, like the tide of the ocean. Let's be "high tide" for the people who are needing to be submerged by the love, grace, peace & joy of Christ!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GIA

Gia's birthday is tomorrow, January 5th. Happy First Production Team Birthday of 2009!!
Gia, you sing BGV's with boldness and provide a huge support to myself (I know others but will let them speak (-: ). Thank you for your willingness to jump in, lead, sing and anything else required.
I love and appreciate you!
Therapeu
This is one of the words used in the Bible as worship. It means healing.
Directly after service, I heard of two people healed today. One a
disorder suffered for years and one a major injury from a motorcycle
injury.
God's anointing always does great work. Thank you for living in such
a way to be a vessel of that anointing!
