I WANT YOUR THOUGHTS ON CHRISTMAS WEEKEND/EVE

Hey! You are all brilliant and hearers of God. I want your input on Christmas Eve. We are doing the same songs on Christmas Eve as we do on the 23rd (Sunday).

We have discussed it as a staff and creative team. It is crucial that those who only darken the doors on major holidays are able to experience CHURCH, not just Christmas carols. We also want to do something they may be familiar with.

Here are the thoughts:
There will be a fantastic light show to a Christmas song...awesome! My fav!
3 songs and one human video:
Song #1: to catch them where they are at...
I am desiring to do a Linkin Park song...
"What I've Done" or "Leave out all the rest"Daughtry, Flyleaf to go along with "Leaving a legacy."
Song #2: a great upbeat worship song: Check out this video to this song. What do you think? Are there any songs we currently do well you think we could do?
Song #3: Do a great slow worship song. I've had the suggestion of Jesus is...What do you think?
Song#4: Human Video to "Everything"

Please weigh in asap. Terryl (isn't he great?) will get copies of the songs out so we can all practice them ahead of time.

Sound Check will be at 9:00 am. Service begins at 9:30 am.

So, after Lori, the band will strike it up and rock the flock (as Aaron would say).

REASONS FOR A DRAGGING SERVICE

I want to start some dialogue on services that resemble a caterpillar dragging itself through rubber cement.

I have been praying and believe I have a word from the Lord as to the main reason...

As we enter this discussion, it is important to recognize and remember our ways are not the Lord's ways and at times, He will direct the service in a way we don't particularly feel comfortable with. But, that doesn't mean it is not God! As well, there is no formula or definition of the "perfect service." And, the huge ministry moment typically happens with the word/alter. If it happens during worship, "WOW" but then know it most likely won't happen during the word. We are discussing perspectives.

That said, I have a few thoughts on a dragging service the first of which is most important AND the most prevalent...
1. All HELL IS AGAINST GOD MOVING!!! Even though we know that "greater is He that is in us than He who is in this world," we are all human and at times feel it is our fault and entirely miss the spiritual battle we must fight.
2. We are not prepared and are not practiced in a song or our parts. When this happens, we play with hesitation, therefore missing any opportunity to worship or allow the Lord to direct us.
3. The audio mix is not right in the worship center. We, as a team have no idea when this happens (except for the faces) because what is in our mix or heard on stage is NOTHING like the house mix.
4. The words are not correct or present on the screen. This is why they must practice with us.
5. We are not leading from a place of faith. We cannot lead the people from the same position as the people. We must live where we want to be.
6. The team on stage is not BIG with showing thanksgiving and adoration to God.
7. Any of the evaluation points are avoided.
8. The people are oppressed, stressed, preoccupied.
9. Did I say the people? (-:

This leads me to the final (although the reasons are limitless)and crucial potential reason for a blahze service...

10. Pride on the stage. I have been convicted of this point and believe our team has been a victim of this. When I say pride, I don't mean an obvious arrogance but I mean a lack of dependence on God. With all I have been preparing, moving, traveling, healing, training for the internship starting, home studies and moving again, I have found myself in a mode of "I can (HAVE TO) get this all done." I have, at times, found myself drained before practice and easily frustrated or unprepared. Well, I know I CANNOT get it done successfully without the grace of God wisdom. This comes from an infilling of DAILY word AND prayer. I have been walking in P-R-I-D-E. For this, I am truly sorry. While in pride, it is difficult to lead others to not fall into the same place. Sure, I have been getting daily prayer in but not prayer and word to the extent I need to be for us to go to another level.

When I show up for practice and service, I need to show up with six days of prayer and word under my belt. I need to show up with an attitude of thanksgiving, praise and being mindful of all Christ has done for me. When I do this, I will not even blink at being full of passion on stage. I won't be moved by peoples' faces or a blahze atmosphere. I will KNOW that my God will move in the service and that no matter what I feel...HE IS MOVING! My will has to be aligned with the will of God.

Every one of you MUST get your daily dose, too! I am going to start a Thanksgiving journal. One in which I give thanks every day for what the Lord has done. In doing this, a true heart of worship and humility is cultivated. Will you join me in humbly worshiping God and meeting Him...every day?

SERVICE AND PRACTICE EVALUATION

Hey Team! What a fantastic weekend. Thank you for your dedication and incredible passion for the next level. Here is a list of Service and Practice Evaluation points. Please review these and add or alter any I have listed. I will then post in the green room.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEVIN

Did you know it was Kevin's birthday this week?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEVIN!

You are such an incredible man of God. Thank you for living a life of passion, support and pursuit of God's best for yourself and others! I look forward to your jokes, your laugh and you know...just looking at you makes me laugh! But not because you look funny! Because you are so full of life!

I appreciate you!

CALL ME A BULLDOG WITH LIPSTICK!

Greetings Team!

I am very excited about what God is doing in our midst and for us. Justin, myself and some others are going to spend the next week or so cleaning up, re-gridding and organizing the stage and audio equipment.

If you are an organizational genius, please get a hold of me because we can use you! We are developing systems for putting things back after using, keeping track of microphones, which ones go to the speaker and which ones DON'T, finding out what we have and organizing it...the list goes on.

I will be bringing everyone on the same page as to what "being ready for practice" as well as "having the stage set for practice" means. When everyone is on the same page, things go smoothly AND practice begins on time.

I will also be posting the evaluation points. We can use these for practice as well as services. Love it!!! Cannot know where you have improved lest you know where you have been AND not forgotten.

I am very excited about Ryan who has joined our sound team. He has not had a good chance to "feel out" our stage and where everything plugs in. This is going to help him a lot. He has the ability to raise our audio to another level. Let him know you appreciate him.

Team, thank you for your patience.

I am a bulldog with lipstick on, right now! I will be fasting Breakfast and Lunch on Tuesday. If you want to join me, do it. Let's grab on to ALL God has for us!

BGV'S AT PRACTICE TONIGHT

BGV's had a great meeting tonight at practice. Thank you for your feedback and discussion.

We decided that in effort to continue our freedom on stage, at the very least, we will switch up places with each chorus. At other times, express the freedom by singing to one another while leading the people. Have fun! Move and be as relaxed as we are in practice, on Sunday.

We discussed Jr. High worship and how grateful the team is for those of you who are leading on Sunday morning. The Jr. Highers are learning and expressing worship because you are getting out there and leading them. We also discussed processing worship with myself, not other people, spouses, tvmers or their leaders. When in leadership, it is important that we have words of faith being spoken not just how it went. Other's will not have the burden nor the anointing we have to lead. You are also my liaison and I need to hear how it went and be able to give wisdom to you as well as others who will lead. Let the processing and wisdom be gotten through proper channels so as to continue to build the Jr. High and leaders up.

I am now aware there have been no words for Jr. High. Thank you for letting me know. As you know, I would never want there to be worship with no words. I have been told it is fixed. Please let me know if there is anything else missing or needed as I can speed up the solution.

The Grid will be open at 10:30 am for sound check and a run-through. If it is not, please let me know.

Can you hear the common thread? Appreciation and Communication! (-:

Bless you all! I love and appreciate you. The team and leaders appreciate you!

Acoustic would be fun??? If so, we may tweak the first song. Thoughts?

THIS WEEK

Hey Team!

I have been on a whirlwind tour of the Northern and Eastern most states. Just prior to my leaving, my mac hard drive broke and is being replaced. I apologize for any inconvenience it has caused you. The only way for me to update our rc worship website is with the program on the mac. SO...I will be using this blog for communications.

I hope to update the song list for Sat/Sun tomorrow. I know Fuel will ROCK tonight! It is not an all-worship service but a power-packed, short service.

We return Friday so I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday at 6pm for practice.

BGV's, thank you for your dedication to raising worshipers! Terryl has the junior high set and leader for this weekend and will contact you (or probably already has).

You are a part of the best team in the world! I am getting great word and cannot wait to bring this revelation, refreshing and faith-strengthening back! I have my phone which gets e-mail so don't hesitate to text or e-mail me. I am in meetings a lot so cannot answer my phone all the time.

WE'RE BACK!

Well, I am in the office today after being away from my computer for over a week!

This Sunday went great. I praise God for such a wonderful team.

Mitch, thank you for dialing the drums to perfection!

I am leaving for Alaska (Jeff is doing a wedding) and will be back for Saturday's practice. Then I am gone all next week as well. I will update the website and blog as I get internet service.

Fuel is next week and all is posted for that. Enjoy the week and get with God!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TRAVIS AND GIA

Happy Anniversary to Travis and Gia last Sunday. Two years!

I love and appreciate the both of you. I am so proud of you!

Free

Just wanted to post and say that the new song from P. Mel and Terryl is amazing.

This song is in a league of its own. After hearing it at practice, I was driving home and it hit me, "I can't catagorize this or compare it to any other song...it stands alone!" I believe we are seeing the manifestation (...that sounds a little Christianese...sorry:-) of what has already been proclaimed, a unique sound and song out of the RC that will travel the world.

I don't know...maybe I am biassed! But I believe there is a message and a spirit to this song that will change lives!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AARON

Sunday is Aaron's birthday. Happy birthday! I thank God each day for the wonderful team player you are, Aaron. I know this is going to be your best year yet!

Thank you for giving your all in all you put your hands to. And...I couldn't find the yellow and black spandex. Sorry.

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

What's your favorite Christmas song (artist and version)???

Come one, it's June and I am planning. Besides, I can't wait until July.

SUNDAY'S SONG

This weekend was a great one.

It has been posted and was on the website for a while but I want to make sure everyone is aware that TVM is in the Grid on Saturday nights and not in the Worship Center.

Thank you for your hard work at practice. I had a great time with the new song.

Second service was a service to mark in the books. We hit that "high praise" mark that is amazing! God is so faithful and keeps meeting us and bringing us into greater times with Him.

This is a testament not only of the greatness of God but also the purity, practice, passion, order...and all the core values this team holds true. Thank you!

Super job with "Life is a Highway." The kids loved it, too. Jonathan Nelson came in the church and heard the song (which is his fav) and said, "It's the Cars song, Mommy!" That's cool!

Happy Father's Day to our dads on the team. You are the greatest dads! You will have many awesome Father's Days. I pray you are blessed this week with all the goodness of God. He daily loads you with benefits!

About the guest I posted was going to join us at practice...he didn't. I received an e-mail from him on Sunday that said he wanted to do it some time in July. I'll keep you posted.

Enjoy today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HEATHER

We want to wish Heather Eder a happy birthday today!

You are wonderful. I appreciate your passion and willingness to go "all out."

BAND CAMP FOLLOW-UP

I did not receive any volunteers to help out with band camp so we will postpone the thought until next year.

This year, our focus will continue to be writing our own songs.

I really believe it is important and mandated on us to raise up the next generation so I will continue to allow God's leading for strategy. We will do it next year!

I look forward to an incredible weekend!

GUEST AT PRACTICE

Saturday, we will have a guest minister at practice to get a feel for what we do. You may remember a handful of us who led worship in Lynnwood at A New Day church, a few months ago. Well, the music director has asked to come to our practice and just watch. He would eventually like to bring his team to one of our all-team practices when we can do workshops and they can glean from us.

This is good. We are here to help lead people to worship God. "Touching the world one measure at a time." We have the ability to help an entire church aside from The Rock, by helping this team.

If there is ever a time when you need extra focus on a part of a song or feel like you are not comfortable practicing in front of him, please let me know. We will do what we need to do in order to take care of our team. And I won't "call you out."

YOU COME FIRST. PERIOD.

WEEKEND RECAP

Hey Team,

I am so proud of you for your hard work and passion for seeing God glorified and His people worship!

You are smart, discerning and powerful. There is nothing we can't do together! I look forward to a great week. God has been good to you and He is going to bless you, this week.

Thank you for this weekend. There was a sweet presence in the house. The new song was wonderful. I was caught up in the presence of God and truly touched in the service today.

SHOUT OUT!

This week's shout out goes to Robin Davis. She plays drums, percussion and trumpet.

Robin, you struggled last night and today but pushed through without giving up. Because of that, you overcame! Thank you for your dedication and loyalty. Thank you for your passion after the things of God, righteousness and purity.

Way to go, Robin!

THIS WEEKEND

Wow! What great reports from this weekend! Thank you to all of you on the team.

Jeff and I were in Ellensburg where he spoke at the State High School Finals. The head of the National High School Rodeo Association and her assistant were there and LOVED him! They asked him to do the next two years at Nationals! That was pretty cool!

We prayed a lot, drove a lot and did a lot of nothing! That's always fun. Really.

I heard there are some mishaps with our music webpage. I was told to refresh the page a couple times to get the current updates (not sure why). I don't plan on ever leaving without a detailed description of service and practice and who is doing what. So, if you don't see those notes, call me or e-mail me because there would be something you are not seeing.

Rachel didn't get those updates so she wasn't just NOT doing what was laid out. Funny how cyberspace works...or doesn't!

Again, we are working these bugs out but let me reiterate to call or e-mail. I love getting e-mails and receiving questions so you will not be bothering me. Services are too big a deal, touching too many people and you are too valuable to have you not feel totally prepared and it not well laid out.

If you don't see a junior high schedule and you are a bgv, call or e-mail because you may not have the updated page.

How fun is this? You are the best! I am so proud of each of you and where we are going!!!

BBQ

I just heard there is a TVM meeting on that Friday. I am thinking of making it a Thursday...hmmmm...

Definite no's?

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

HOW DO YOU THINK FUEL WENT?????

I thought the entire experience was awesome!

The practices, I have written about before but will say, the ability for us to constructively suggest transformations to songs and parts was a step up from any other time. Thank you to all who stepped out to brave the Great Divide of feedback (receiving and giving). Wow! Seems to be my word for the century.

How about the forty-five minutes of worship and prayer after? Here is what someone e-mailed me last night that took part in that...

"Praise God! After such a wonderful praise and worship service, my flesh is so tired; but, my spirit is soaring with the eagles. Wow! I just wanted to thank you and Pastor Jeff for your obedience tonight. I was sooooo blessed. I absolutely love to worship the Lord for it is such a privilege and I'm honored to be able to do so.
It's so overwhelming how much God loves us. I can't help but cry...............and cry.........and cry. I felt like a dam had been broken in the spirit. (In a wonderful way)
My life is so blessed but I know that it is because I AM to be a blessing. "

And another...

"You did an amazing job tonight, worship was very anointed and powerful.
Karly that was sitting next to me said you guys should tour. I'm a little too
selfish to agree with her :) We are so spoiled and take for granted all the
work you guys put in to make it look so easy. "

And...

"Hi Pastor Mel,

I just wanted to let you know that last night was one of the best nights of worship I can remember in the 4 years I have been at The Rock. I was at the last recording and it was also awesome but last night topped them all!!
I feel so blessed to be able to love each and every moment of worship in my church and think that the team is INCREDIBLE! It is obvious that all of you are not just singing but truefully pouring out praise to God. It is a blessing to watch and hear. I can't wait to hear this CD. How long do we have to wait??? I am so excited!"

I received a text today from a friend who said her back was healed in service!!! We have been praying for miracles during the worship for years!

I thought we all did well "owning" our element and really making a solid effort to keep nerves under wraps so as to play and sing skillfully. I loved the "teapot" song and thought it opened the evening off perfectly. I LOVED how you invited the whole crew of people to sing with you. That started the evening off the right way, too.

I know we all made mistakes. We will be able to fix what we need to. I thought we were able to work really hard and have fun, too.

I was sad that those on the team who were not on stage, were not ALL there. I know there are other commitments but you are just a part of the team as anyone else and know how important those in the crowd are to the success of any worship time. I pray you desire to help in the studio and such. I know Rachel tried to get with the BGV's and talk about who and what and when in regards to the evening. I praise God for you all! We have lots more projects to do and I anticipate you being in on all the upcoming festivities!

That brings me to another point...I think we all learned how important it is for everyone to join in worship. I really saw this wen we kept pressing in and the number of God moments. You know, when you thought the song was going well and then God kicked in the nitro or you thought the song was over the Spirit interrupted us!

I think we learned the necessity of a plan and how the Holy Spirit can be a part of the plan before hand as well as take over in the moment!

I learned God's faithfulness and His desire to consistently draw us closer to Him.

I was blessed to see the spouses of the team in the crowd. Wow! There's that word again!

I was bummed the place wasn't filled to capacity because you all deserve to be supported a ton! Rachel said it best when she said, "I'd rather have a room half full of people who really want to be there, than a packed house of half way worshippers." I believe this is true for the recording. Great point, Rach!

I know when people see the passion and humility on all your faces and in your lives, you draw EVERYONE to worship. And if they aren't, they are asking, "What's wrong with me?"

Wow, you got a whole lot of me talking!

Pastor Rose is so excited to give the CD to her friends in the UK who have had to get multiple copies of our last CD because they wore it out. Whenever one friend wakes up, the only way he can go back to sleep is if he puts his headphones on and plays the CD. AND, they listen to it EVERY night when they go to bed. Wow!

I say all this to say...our music is going around the world. It is going to take a team who is sold out to God, the vision, to team and to priorities. You have a lot of things pulling at your time. Guard it. Don't let lack of order or time with God stop you from being a part of this team. That is not from God!

We have a huge Father's Day service coming up. Let's win those men to Christ!

The question again...

HOW DO YOU THINK FUEL WENT?

FUEL AND ALL YOU DO

I have been so blessed by Fuel practices. There has been such a peace and feeling as though we are all there for the same reason. They have been a lot of fun, too.

I think the MSG got to Zach this evening...and Kevin but we won't talk about that!

BGV's, there will be a need, like the previous cd, for us to all head into the studio to do some voice-overs and over and over. I look forward to all of your participation with this! We will have a blast!

Please be praying for tomorrow evening that all goes smoothly, nerves are pushed out with the little teapot and our technical geniuses have great wisdom and grace!

We want an evening of worship and explosive power. We really believe everyone is going to greater levels tomorrow.

I feel truly privileged to serve with this fantastic team! I realize there are many areas that could be pulling your passion, energy and life but you choose to focus on the vision of God's house and truly bringing the sound of RC Worship to the world...one measure at a time. You give a lot. Lives are transformed, encouraged and changed because you are a part. Don't think lightly of the ministry you do and the team you are a part of. Guard your time so you can give your best!

Muchos gracias. Merci. Thank you. That's all I know!

GOD'S PERSPECTIVE

Psalm 89:22, “The enemy shall not outwit him,”

Begin this moment with the knowledge that when we “Seek first the kingdom of God…all our stuff will be okay!” (Matt. 6:33). There is no ploy the enemy throws your way that God does not know about. Remember…He made the Devil. He knows his in’s and out’s. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and how he works. The word also says that “no weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54).

It is often perspective that keeps us from walking by faith. When we look at our lives through God’s eyes, we see that our victory is guaranteed! When we acknowledge our need for His help, all of Heaven is on our side.

Are there areas or decisions in your life causing anxiety? If so, ask God to remove the anxiety and replace it with peace and a trust in Him.

The next time anxiety tries to rear it's ugly head, give those things over to the Lord. Ask Him to give you His perspective and His peace. He is faithful to do it, every time.

FUEL: WHAT A GREAT NIGHT

Thank you for such a wonderful night of worship. I felt great peace in the house and on stage. Even in practice, there were great attitudes, hearts desiring to worship and plain ol' joy.

I hope you found as much refreshment and "FUEL" as I did. If you weren't on stage, I pray you were able to attend.

I look forward to great times!

FREE SMOOTHIE

Sunday, please go to RC Coffee and order a smoothie or coffee drink on me. Please let them know you are on RC Creative Worship.

SHOUT OUT!

This week's shout out goes to Kat. She sings as a BGV and is going to lead Jr. High worship. Kat jumped in and took on leading the children from the Easter choir.

Kat, thank you for your faithfulness to the team and desire to improve. Thank you for coming to me and asking about choir details and agendas which really helped me download with ease! I also appreciate you supporting as I went and ministered at two places recently.

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

I am considering doing an all request Fuel only this time giving people a list to choose from. Got any favs?

THANKS FOR HAVING THE CHILDREN ON STAGE

I just wanted to send you a quick note about some of the testimonies from Easter.

I had many families stop and call Todd and I both to tell us that their friends and family that would never, ever come to church came to see the children sing in the choir. Every person that came to us were so excited because their company loved every aspect of church. Some of them can't wait to come back. I just wanted to say that all the hard work paid off and seeds are growing as we speak! I am so excited! Just a huge confirmation that having a children's choir is a great opportunity to invite all who know them, and in that they are being blessed themselves! I am sure lives were saved just because they thought they were coming to see a child sing. :)

WEEKEND RECAP

Thank you for an incredible weekend and all the preparations you made gearing up!

We were able to count 48 people's hands raised for salvation. 14 of those stood up as first time salvations!!! It all goes to your heavenly accounts!

I am so proud of the team. There were many moving parts to this weekend...choir, new song, production, new stage, where to stand?, aviom funkiness, dark stage, three services, practice with kids, dance team accidentally stepping on gear, belts needed, snacking between services, drum door falling, family members coming for the first time, neighbors experiencing God for the first time (and loving Him), new people raising their hands in worship (glow-sticks and all), kids having a ball, proud parents of choir members, a full house, super message, fun yet God-focused back stage, new stage, new song and I know you have more!

Thank you to the BGV's for your leadership. I cannot do it all. At that, I did too much. But, the person who was to lead the choir got sick after we had announced and auditioned people so...bgv's and myself had to pull it together! Thank you Terryl and Zach for making the cd's and sheets for the choir. Zach and Rach, you were a tremendous lead, as well.

I apologize for the miscommunication or lack thereof and not talking about "God, Great God" the week before Easter. I appreciate all the flexibility and humility. I know we stomped all over the devil this weekend.

Through it all, God was so faithful to us. When it's just us, we can do nothing but through Christ, we can do all things! And we did MANY AND I MEAN MANY DIFFERENT ELEMENTS THIS WEEKEND! Nahshon met a guy in the bathroom after a service who was sobbing. He said he just walked in the worship center doors and was overwhelmed with the presence of God.

Enough said...this is what it is all about! Nice job. Thank you. I wish I could be so many different people at once so I could hug you all, right now and buy you a boat!

SHOUT OUT!

There was a special request to Shout Out to Aaron again this week. His positive attitude is infectious, and he always seems to find the "pocket" =). He never has to be asked to give 110%, he just gives it, and does it with a smile. He brings a joy to the entire team, and we are so blessed to have him.

I agree with this post. Aaron, your leadership inspires me and puts wind in my sails (for lack of a far better analogy!). Thank you again.

I want to give a Shout Out to Donnie. He is our bass player in Jr. High worship. I am excited for him to increase his skill level, commitment and involvement so we can see more of him in the RC Creative Arts Department! This young man has experienced such growth in the past few months. Terryl quotes, "He is a role model to the rest of the Junior High team and his actions on and off stage are exemplary as the great man of God he is becoming."

Thanks Donnie!

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

The acoustic service went very well last week, any thoughts on different themed worship sets like that?

The themes typically come from the message series, however we could use ideas on how to portray them.

THANKS, TERRYL FOR POSTING THIS!

PRACTICE REMINDER

Reminder:

Friday:
We are doing a sound check at 7pm. We do not need bgv's. Terryl can check the guitars. Aaron, you may be the only who wants to be there to make sure the drums are dialed in.
Saturday:
The only practice on Saturday is at 5:30 pm.

YOU ROCK!

WHAT TO WEAR ON EASTER

If you are wanting to purchase something for Easter (NO PRESSURE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING NEW!), purchase a new pair of jeans. It's time for me to search for a new pair of jeans. If you haven't since our dress change, it's time for you, too!

The choir is wearing black with bue or yellow.
All others on stage...WEAR JEANS!

BGV's, please bring a choir outfit and an outfit with jeans as we are unsure of placement until the stage is completely finished.

WE WANT ALL BGV'S ON STAGE THIS SUNDAY!

RC Live

Jr. High Worship

So I thought that I would share with you all my experience with the first ever Jr. Worship. You ready for this? It was....AWESOME! So I was kind of nervous to do this being as how I would be the only person singing up there, dont get me wrong, I love leading songs and what not but usually there are multiple people singing on stage with me but Rachel told me a quote that said: "when I "feel" nervous, that it's not nerves, it's the anointing" and this helped me out a lot so props to her and her sound advice. Ok so back to the service, the first song we did was "For who you are" and the words weren't up on the screen so a lot of the kids had the "Deer in headlights" look going on just starring at me. I was like, uh oh, i hope this isnt how it's going to be the whole time. The second song was "The Stand" but before we went into it i said a prayer and spoke to the young people about worship and what it meant to worship God. When we went into the chorus of The Stand I opened my eyes and every student had either their hands lifted high or their eyes close giving God genuine worship. It was AMAZING! I wish you all could have been there to witness it. I am so excited for you other BGV's that will be leading a service soon, it's so much fun and I could tell that the young people were excited to have their own worship. Just wanted to share that with you all. Much Love.

COMMENT I JUST RECEIVED

Hi Pastor Melinda ~

I have been meaning to send you a note about this for a couple months… I just wanted to say that I think worship has been absolutely phenomenal lately! (not that it hasn’t always been phenomenalJ) I really feel like it has stepped up a few levels, and just when I think it can’t get any better, it does! I really appreciate all the hard work that I know you and the whole team put into the excellence that is happening every single week. I know that you are all putting in hours every week and each person’s dedication has paid off in the form of an unbeatable worship experience. Thank you to the whole team for your obedience and sacrifice.

TONIGHT

Great job tonight, team! I really thought we all pulled together after last night and were not going to allow a feeling or lack thereof to dictate how our night went. That showed a great amount of maturity for which I am very proud of each of you.

Great sensitivity and teamwork. Every heart on the stage wanted to do the right thing, desired to flow as a team and really worshipped God. That is a huge win in my book!

Thank you for your loyalty and dedication!

As an aside, make sure to limit your extra curricular activities so as to not be too drained for service in God's house and on this team! You are all important and it's just not as fun without ya!

SHOUT OUT!

This week's shout out goes to Dan Warren. He is an energetic and passionate bgv. He continuously alters his work schedule so he can give of his time for the team. He will be leading our first Jr. High worship time.

Dan, you are an absolute blast to lead with. You jump, laugh and go out of your way to express your worship. Thank you for your loyalty and your heart for the vision and God's people.

SNEAK PEEK AT SERVICES LEADING TO EASTER...

Here's a sneak peek at the services leading up to Easter. We just had a staff meeting and discussed the next three weekends.

GET EXCITED!!!

This weekend, we are doing "How to Save a Life" by The Fray.
Next weekend is an acoustic service. The stage will be mostly clear to aid in the effort of the total stage redesign happening for Easter.
Easter weekend we are going to have a full sound check on Friday evening at 7pm (tentative). Because the stage will have been torn up, we'll need one!
There is an Easter Eggstravaganza for the kids in the afternoon. We are purchasing glow sticks to pass out during the last song of the set. It will be sooooo cool!

Choir practice is at 4:30 pm each Saturday. The final one being a run-through of the Easter service.

Our Easter service times are: 9, 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. THREE. It will be off the hook.

As of right now, we are shortening our Easter service so we won't be doing a cover song. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR DYNAMIC DISCUSSIONS WE HAVE BEEN HAVING. WE WILL BE DOING COVER SONGS!!!

BEAR WITH ME AS YOU MAY BE CALLED UPON TO SING OR PLAY WITH LITTLE NOTICE.
Questions? Post 'em.

OPEN FOR NEW SONGS

WEEKEND SERVICES...DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU BELONG?

I want to give an update on our weekend services and how our team fits.

Practices will be held at 6:30 pm for the services.
If you are on the schedule for a particular Sundaym you will be ministering on the Saturday night as well (unless otherwise notified or listed).
Jr. High services with live worship begin next weekend...April 1st. BGV's, you will be notified of the weekend you are leading. Yeah! How exciting is that?

Post or let me know if you have questions or something is unclear!

SHOUT OUT!

This week's SHOUT OUT goes to the Nashman! He plays keys, strategically creates great brainstorming sessions as well as gives his lovely wife to minister!

Nahshon, congratulations to you on your graduation from the Art Institute of Seattle! Wow. Thank you for giving endless hours to your passions and not forsaking the ministry or the giving of your time on the music team. It is an honor to serve with you. You provide wonderful and valued input.

Congrats to you!

Song Submission

Hey I think it would be cool if we had a little area where we could submit new songs that we think would be cool to do. I know that everyone out there has different styles and tastes so I'm sure we would have a huge lists of suggestions. Just an idea to get the creative juices flowing and for you all to be looking, or should i say listening, for cool new songs.

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

What do you think could make the backstage "green room area" a better place?

Also, is there anything you would want to contribute to back there?

If we did something fun as a team, what would it be?

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

SHOUT OUT!

This week's shout out goes to Zach T! He is a phenominal BGV team member. He pulls the songs for our practices and services and duplicates our songs. He and Terryl recorded our Easter cd's for the choir. This will make practices go so smooooooth and the choir will feel confident coming to practice.

Zach, thank you for your hard work and excellence! Thank you for allowing me to be picky...and for posting on my blog!

My computer is not allowing me to post pictures on this blog.

CHOIR AND BGV'S

Hello BGV's!

Easter choir is beginning this Saturday! We have passed out a cd of the songs to the crew and we will have 12 kids joining us!

We are a lot more prepared this time than we were for the Christmas choir...being there weren't major unforseen changes this time. We are all appreciative of that, I am sure.

We will be splitting the children off and I will need some of you to help with them. (-: They will be singing for two of our 3 choir songs. They will need to be very energetic and know the songs well. Maybe even some choreography!

Please be at practice at 4:30 pm this Saturday. I am going to need you to help lead the crew.

Love you all!

Happy Birthday Pastor M-E-L!!

This is a shout out to one of the two greatest leaders in the world.

It is her B-Day tomorrow and since we can't all sing to her over the internet (...easily that is), she will have to settle for us saying nice things about her online (...though you can always sing to her on location...hmmm...maybe there could be a prize for the craziest demonstration of "Happy Birthday" in front of P. Mel?)

We thank you for being you. We thank you for putting us before yourself. We thank you for taking the time to see we are each reaching our full potential for Christ. We love you and pray that God's grace, anointing and favor will increase exponentially.

Oh...and that you will recieve an overflowing abundance of "Sour Patch Candies", "Gummie Worms", and chocolate (:hint)

We are looking to do a new song on Easter...

Beautiful Day, U2

or

Where the Streets Have No Name, U2

Thoughts? Have another?

PRACTICE

Due to the men's breakfast, we will have NORMAL PRACTICE (What defines normal 'cause I don't think I like normal??...Dan, why don't you bring a dance?) at 6:30 pm. Although we need an all team meeting and fun time...we will hold off for a more opportune time.

BGV's...I am going to be speaking with you on leading some Lifesavers and Jr. High worship! Get ready, get ready, get ready!!!

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

We are going to give out double the prizes this week! Prizes for last week's chime in and prizes for this weeks.

We need a song about the theme, "God is all about go. Or a song about going." And then another about "Honest ministry helps people. Step into your calling."

Any ideas?

UPDATE

Hi Team!

The mission team has safely returned! I feel like I have been on the other side of the moon, out of technology range. I apologize for not having schedules finished for the rest of March. They are up now. My hesitation was and is because we were/are making so many ongoing changes with the Saturday night worship that I didn't want to keep changing the schedule up.

There has been a men's breakfast scheduled for this Saturday morning. As a result, we will not be having an all-team meeting but WILL be having practice at 6:30 pm (regular time). I would love for our men to be at this breakfast.

I plan on practicing Adonai on Saturday so will be posting the chord chart this week.

I am in the middle of planning Mitosis and have a couple of specific worship sets lined up. The one that takes the most practice will be Thursday's set so we will practice on Wednesday evening. Please check out the schedule. At the bottom of the March schedule is a list of specifics on practices, Mitosis and prayer.

As soon as Saturday evening's begin, we will re-visit practice times. Please post or e-mail me with any questions you have regarding any of these items!

Love you all!

Mitosis...

As a fellow team member, I want to encourage you all to sign up for Mitosis, if you haven't already.

It is going to be an amzing time of impartation, vision, inspiration and growth. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity that you do not want to miss. As it has been stated, this is a year of beginnings and Mitosis is a big part of that.

Plan on being there for all the sessions if you can. And if you can't, be there for some of the sessions. If you are on the fence of indicision, don't think about it...do it:-) If it is an issue of cost for anyone, please see me.

It's a moment- don't miss it! Love you all and hope to see you there.

That All May Know,
NG

SHOUT OUT!

This week's SHOUT OUT goes to Rachel. She leads the BGV's on the team and is an incredible leader. Attitude is like a ripple in the water that will effect the entire pool or a little bit of Koolaid powder that makes the enire jug of water taste like yummy grapes! Rachel is lke that Koolaid. No matter what the situation, circumstance, her amount of sleep or her intake of Mountain Dew, she has a tremendous attitude!

Thank you for your support, Rachel. Thank you for your passion for purity and heart for the vision, God, Jeff and myself. Thank you for loving your kids and husband (he's kinda cool, too!) and sharing your kids! I appreciate you and am confident and excited about all God is doing and will do in and through you! Anyone else want to chime in? I know you do..

WANT TO WIN? CHIME IN!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you want to go?
What would you take with you?

I would go to Italy...always New York. Oh and rent a house on St. Martin. (I couldn't decide on one!)
I would take my video Ipod because it holds everything including the bible on cd.

FROM PUERTO VALLARTA

Hey Team!

I am really excited for Fuel. I want you to worship God and remember that you are ministering to Him...an audience of One.

Thank you for your dedication and passion. One of the interns said something really great tonight, during our processing. While here, there is a language barrier but we always have a language barrier when sharing Christ. Whether it is religious, social, age, gender or the many others, we have got to ask God to help us break those barriers down. Team, you have what it takes to break down every worship barrier. It starts from you just being an example of worship. Living a life of worship. Through that, it will show on stage and draw all me to Him. Don't try to make it happen, you don't have to. Don't talk to much, you don't have to. DO HAVE A BLAST!!!

Here is a picture of Kat teaching English and one of Terryl feeding in the dump. Go to melindaknight.com for some others. I was thinking I should maybe race the race car after my driving experience here. LOL!

Love you all!
